The hard-line faction of the UCPN (Maoist) led by Mohan Baidhya has formed people’s volunteer bureau similar to the party’s youth wing Young Communist League (YCL). A meeting of the Baiday faction, held in an undeclared central office in Kupondole, Lalitpur, formed the bureau with standing committee member Netra Bikram Chand as in-charge.
The bureau was formed in the presence of Vice President Mohan Baidhya and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, among other hardliner leaders. This bureau had already been formed but was inactive due to the protests by YCL leaders.
Former division assistant commander Udaya Bahadur Chalaune, Ramlal Roka and Nep Bahadur Kunwar are also the member of the reconstituted bureau.
Likewise, a 17-member committee has been formed including YCL leaders Uma Bhujel and Sabitri Dura as the members.
