Constitution impossible within May 27: Thapa

Kathmandu

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa said that promulgating the constitution within May 27 is impossible as the major political parties are rigid on their stance regarding various disputed issues that appeared in the constitution writing process.
Inaugurating the RPP-N Kathmandu district-level cadres' orientation programme, he warned the nation was heading towards a deep crisis as the tenure of the Constituent Assembly has only 57 days left. He urged the major political parties to correct their weaknesses and move ahead.
The RPP-N chair said the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM), and UCPN (Maoist) should accept their failure and apologize to the people as it has been proven that these parties have failed to deliver peace and constitution to the people.

RPP-N parliamentary party leader Chandra Bahadur Gurung said nationality, democracy, and liberalism were the guiding principles of his party and accused the major political parties of misusing the national coffers.
